Holzberg to Speak On Leveraging Technology at the NACHC 2007 Policies & Issues Forum

New York, NY, January 31, 2007 - Eric S Holzberg, Chorus President & CEO, will speak at the National Association of Community Health Center ("NACHC") 2007 Policies and Issues Forum ("P&I") on "Information Management: How Health Centers Can Truly Leverage Technology".

The NACHC P&I Forum, March 15 - March 21, 2007 at the Washington Hilton, Washington, DC, brings together health providers, health policy experts, lawmakers, community health care leaders and consumers to discuss "the deepening crisis in America's health care" and "gain insights into the issues, the opportunities, and the new political environment that will shape tomorrow's health care delivery," according to NACHC.

Holzberg, whose career includes over 20 years as a financial and operations consultant to community health centers and NACHC, is an acknowledged expert on strategically planning the use of healthcare information technology (HIT) to significantly increase health center operational efficiency so that CHCs can focus on the delivery of the highest quality health care to all who need it regardless of ability to pay.

"Each CHC information system - the general ledger, payroll, the practice management system, and the electronic health records - gathers and stores valuable data for its own purposes," Holzberg says. "Too often, however, the types of technology that make it possible to access this information across applications and utilize it to make better, smarter business decisions isn't planned for or implemented," he states.

Holzberg will open the session by discussing how to think about information and its uses and then review the types of technology that can be used to access and utilize information across applications, the value of establishing common reference files and charts of accounts in Set-Up, and how to run rules engines against clinical, financial and operational data to make technology work smarter.

"Regardless of your vendor or products, superior information management is making sure that the right people have the right information at the right time, without having to ask for it, Holzberg says, "and your HIT programs can make that happen."
