MDSERVE University™ ("MDSU") is, "a unique, new online e-Learning portal that provides interactive, Flash-based instruction from a curriculum that includes 85 job-specific courses organized by function (e.g., Front Desk, Back Office, etc.) as well as more than 50 third-party healthcare courses," according to Tim Baker, MDSERVE Vice President of Learning Management Systems who directed its development.

"MDSU has been designed with many unique, user-friendly features," Baker says. "Users can sign up or add courses at any time using MDSU's easy on line self-registration process and begin instruction immediately or as their schedule permits. Classes are always available and are designed with concise course modules that are easily absorbed to facilitate retention and encourage course completion."

Baker adds, "MDSU courses include built-in self testing to help enrollees immediately identify areas of proficiency as well as areas that require further study. This helps to make study time as efficient as possible; and promotes subject mastery and a sense of pride in achieving certification. MDSU also incorporates client-configurable work units that enable clinic training supervisors to establish their own training development plans; approve user course selections; and insure users are able to use MDSERVE products effectively in their assignments.

Commenting on MDSU, Putney says, "The significant weekly increases in enrollment and user feedback have confirmed the broad-based interest our research shows users have in finding ways to reduce training costs and the financial impact of employee turnover."
